New Disc Rotor Installation:
When fitting new brake rotor(s), new brake pads must be fitted. Brake rotor retaining bolts must be in good condition or be replaced. Bolts must be installed with loctite at manufacturer recommended torque settings. The brake calliper(s) must be in good condition, if any caliper pistons do not retract when the brake is off, this will cause binding of the pads on the new disc rotor(s), and will damage the rotor. After installation of new brake rotor(s), rotate the wheel by hand, apply the brakes firmly then release - repeat several times, the wheel must rotate freely. If the brake pads bind with a rotor in any position, the calliper(s) are in need of overhaul. If the bike is run with binding brakes it will damage the new disc rotor and pads. Also it will overheat the brake fluid, causing the brake fluid to expand and increase the pad pressure onto the disc rotor, causing blueing, warping and damage to your brake rotor(s).
